Job Title: Construction Laborer

Job Description

Join our team as a Construction Laborer where you will play a vital role in supporting our construction projects by performing a range of essential tasks. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that construction operations run smoothly and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all work adhering to OSHA and safety policies.
  • Acquire tools needed for daily operations.
  • Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines.
  • Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Mix concrete and smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete.
  • Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections.
  • Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in general labor, construction, hand tools, concrete, and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use a rake and shovel.
  • Experience in piping, paving, concrete, and general labor.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements such as movement and lifting relevant to the job.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • One month of related experience and/or training.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or relevant safety certifications.

Work Environment

Work outdoors regularly exposed to weather conditions. Frequently encounter moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
