Job Description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria Virginia and Orlando Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning design infrastructure management technical consulting engineering and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army Air Force Navy Marine Corps) missions along with other US federal agencies all over the world.

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer. You will support the Nairobi CAA Project construction of a new CAA building in addition to the existing chancery providing technical oversight inspection and quality assurance for all electrical systems. You will ensure installations are compliant with U.S. standards project specifications and contract requirements from installation through testing and commissioning.

This position is contingent upon the award of the contract and the contract duration is three years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect electrical systems including power distribution lighting transformers and controls
  • Review shop drawings calculations and submittals for compliance with design intent
  • Monitor installation testing and commissioning activities
  • Ensure contractor work complies with codes specifications and safety standards
  • Evaluate RFIs change requests and technical issues providing recommendations
  • Coordinate with architectural civil and mechanical teams for system integration
  • Track progress and prepare detailed engineering and inspection reports
  • Maintain logs of inspections submittals and field issues
  • Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Assist in review of contractor payment applications

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of construction experience
  • Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Prior OBO site experience preferred
  • Must have overseas experience
  • Experience with electrical systems and distribution
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. standards and codes
  • Knowledge of Construction Safety regulations i.e. EMOSHA etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite i.e. PowerPoint Excel and Word required
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
