Job Description

We are currently seeking a friendly full-time lab technician to join our busy OB/GYN practice. We are a well-established practice with 3 locations in the Hampton Roads area with 8 physicians, 2 physician assistants, 4 certified midwives, a nurse practitioner, and a full-time marriage and family therapist. We provide point-of-care in-house labs for our patients and perform lab draws/collections for send-out tests.

• Microscopic wet mounts and fern tests
• Dipstick urinalysis and manual microscopy
• Urine pregnancy tests
• Glucose and hemoglobin testing via finger-stick method and phlebotomy
• Phlebotomy for various send-out tests

Qualifications:

• EMR (AthenaNet) and OB/GYN experience
• Must be able to work independently and in a group setting
• Efficiency and close attention to detail
• Solid critical thinking skills
• Strong communication, both verbal and written
• Appropriate and efficient prioritization of tasks
• Customer service skills

Education:

• Completion of an associate's degree or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

License Required:

• ASCP or AMT certification

Monday - Friday. No weekends or nights. Certain holidays off.

Busy OB/GYN practice with 3 locations in the Norfolk, Downtown Norfolk and Chesapeake area. We have 9 physicians, 2 Physician Assistants, 1 Nurse Practitioner, and 5 Certified Nurse Midwives.
