Job Description



Telemundo Orlando is seeking a motivated and skilled Photographer/Editor to support Spanish-language news coverage. The Photographer/Editor must demonstrate a strong commitment to creative visual storytelling, with excellent videography and editing skills. This role requires the ability to produce daily content from the field, independently or in collaboration with reporters, and a willingness to learn and adapt as new technologies are introduced.

The successful candidate will be responsible for shooting and editing a variety of news stories, including breaking news and feature content, while consistently meeting daily deadlines.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Gather news facts and create compelling visual stories while on assignment, with or without a reporter.
  • Shoot, light, and edit news content using professional broadcast equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, and transport professional-quality video cameras and related newsgathering equipment.
  • Collaborate with reporters in the field to produce visually creative, memorable stories and engaging live shots.
  • Operate and maintain live transmission equipment, including live backpacks, microwave, and satellite technology.
  • Work efficiently under daily deadline pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
  • Capture video and still photography for digital and social media platforms.
  • Produce and publish content to station digital platforms in accordance with newsroom standards.
  • Utilize catalog and asset management systems to save, store, record, and retrieve video content.
  • Perform general news operations duties as assigned.
  • Carry out other related duties to ensure high-quality, multi-platform news coverage.

Qualifications

/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience shooting news content in a broadcast television environment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Experience working with Dalet Galaxy newsroom systems.
  • Proficiency with asset management and file-sharing platforms, including LMX and Latakoo.
  • Strong understanding of live remote and wireless newsgathering technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to enterprise, research, and plan news stories.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Team player who is flexible and able to adapt quickly in a changing broadcast environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, often with short notice.
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy physical work, including lifting and carrying camera equipment weighing 15–30 pounds for extended periods.

Desired Characteristics:

• FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Certification and flight experience preferred.
